Animal Awareness Day

On the 4th of October, we celebrated “Animal Awareness Day” as this day happens to be the feast of St. Francis of Assisi who loved animals dearly. We talked a lot about animals and during creative writing session, children wrote about themselves pretending to be monkeys. Some samples of this creative writing can be seen on the blog.

I am a Monkey - Story 2

My name is Daniela. I am black and my eyes are black too. I am a little thin monkey and I live in the jungle. I am scared of wild animals. I like to eat coconuts, bananas and peanuts. I like to break coconut shells to eat what is inside. I chatter out loud and swing on the trees and I also like to swing from one tree to another. I am intelligent and mischievous and I am a mammal because I give milk to my little ones. I sleep under a tree or on a tree branch. I like to play with other monkeys and if someone tries to catch me, I run as fast as I can to a safe place. I love being a monkey because I love being free!

I am a Monkey - Story 1

My name is Chanelle. My colour is brown. My eyes are green. I am not a human being, but a cute little monkey. I live in the forest. I eat bananas, peanuts and coconuts. I break coconut shells to drink the milk found inside. I chatter out loud. I like to swing on tree branches. I like to jump from one tree to another chattering loudly on my way. I am intelligent and mischievous. I am a mammal. I sleep under a tree. I am a playful monkey. I like to help other monkeys. I am scared of tigers and lions. When somebody chases me, I run fast to a safe place. I am happy to be a monkey because I live in the fresh air of the forest and far away from all the pollution of towns and villages.

Graph of Maltese Pets

During Maths lesson, we created a table of pets each child owns and the results were used to plot a graph.

Later we will discuss the differences and similarities between the Maltese and the Slovak graphs. We used a powerpoint presentation to create our graph. We saved the powerpoint as a powerpoint presentation and also as a jpg, so that we can use the slide as a picture whenever necessary.
